PFGLab 1.4.99.473 RC1 is the Release Candidate 2 build for the upcoming major PFGLab 1.5 release.
Although marked as a Release Candidate, this version includes major stability improvements and is recommended over the older PFGLab 1.4.1.307 release for all users.
The previous 1.4.1.307 version remains available as a fallback option if needed.
PFGLab 1.4.99.473 (1.5 Release Candidate 2) — What’s New
New Features
- Added Protected Sessions, with encrypted frequencies and notes. Protected sessions can be opened and played normally, while their contents remain hidden and cannot be modified or exported.
- Introduced a redesigned interface with improved Light and Dark themes, including automatic synchronization with the Windows theme.
- Added a new Session Progress display showing the current position, remaining time and estimated completion time.
- Added a larger Open Session window with live search, sorting, protection indicators and session-description preview.
- Added complete Backup & Restore support for sessions, settings, registration data and other local PFGLab information.
- Added an integrated PFG2S Firmware Updater, including firmware verification and automatic reconnection.
- Added customizable notification sounds for frequency changes, completed sessions, critical errors and USB connection events.
- Added power-saving options to prevent Windows sleep and optionally keep the display active during playback.
- Added automatic update checks and improved tools for creating diagnostic support packages.
- Added support for importing multiple session files in a single operation.
- Introduced a new installer with the latest available USB drivers, including driver support for Windows computers using the ARM64 architecture.
- Added a new centralized Settings window, bringing application settings together in clearly organized categories and providing access to additional configuration options.
Interface and Usability Improvements
- Improved Plasma Frequency Rules, with clearer range editing and validation for incomplete, invalid or overlapping ranges.
- Improved Loop All playback with a visible counter for completed session iterations.
- Added smoother, adaptive transitions between frequencies to improve generator stability during large frequency changes.
- Improved the Frequency Library with better search, importing, duplicate handling and integrity checks.
- Improved editing of multiple frequencies: waveform, offset, power and time can now be changed independently without accidentally overwriting other values.
- Improved automatic USB device detection, reconnection and guidance when the connected generator does not match the registered device.
- Improved waveform naming and selection consistency, especially for PFG2U devices.
- Session playback history is still recorded, but simply opening or playing a session no longer incorrectly changes its Modified date.
Important Fixes
- Fixed XML session import and export on systems that use a comma instead of a period as the decimal separator.
- Improved international number handling to prevent incorrect frequency, amplitude or offset values during importing and editing.
- Fixed several playback, pause, stop and Loop All problems, including cases where the last frequency could continue playing after the session restarted.
- Stop now fully stops the generator, resets session progress and makes the next playback start from the beginning.
- Fixed playback from a selected frequency so the session starts directly from the frequency clicked by the user.
- Fixed incorrect or outdated output parameters that could sometimes be reused when starting playback.
- Improved stability during long sessions and extended use, preventing excessive memory consumption.
- Fixed PFG2U waveform upload performance and responsiveness.
- Improved USB port detection and reduced unnecessary scanning of unavailable COM ports.
- Fixed Protected Session migration, playback, display and compatibility issues with existing databases.
- Added safer recovery when the local database is damaged or cannot be opened.
- Improved registration handling to reduce cases where PFGLab could unexpectedly request registration again.
- Fixed several startup crashes, interface flickering, disappearing buttons and Light/Dark Theme display issues.
Note:
This is RC2 for the upcoming PFGLab 1.5 release. The previous 1.4.1.307 version remains available as a fallback if needed.
